How to get Leather Strips in Project Zomboid – Crafting
Leather Strips are not found, or it is an extremely rare material to find, you need to craft it, and you can do it through two recipes
- Clothing (Leather) + Scissors = Leather Strips
- Water + Dirty Leather Strips = Leather Strips
Ingredients
You will need to find Scissors, Clothing (Leather) and Water:
- Scissors: Scissors can be found in desks. If you do not have scissors in your inventory the option to rip leather wont appear
- Clothing (Leather): Leather jackets are frequent around the map, usually in houses or clothes stores. Zombies will often be found wearing leather jackets
- Water: water can be obtained from faucets, bathtubs, and toilets. Additionally, water may be collected from wells, rain collector barrels, water coolers or directly from water sources in the environment such as rivers and lakes

Tailoring is a skill in Project Zomboid that is used to repair and fortify clothes to make them have more protection against scratches, bites and bullets.
You will Need:
- x1 Needle
- x1 Thread
- A Fabric (Ripped Sheets, Denim Strips or Leather strips)
Of the 3 fabrics we recommend using Denim Strips or Leather Strips, and Leather Strips are the best, they offer the same defense increase as Denim Strips against Scratch and Bullet, but double the defense increase against Bites, so It is the best reinforcement possible.
To start tailoring, right-click a clothing and right-click Inspect to display the condition of the clothing. Holes can be patched and paddings can be added by right-clicking the corresponding body part.
