How to Find the Ancient Depth Serpent in Fisch: Complete Guide

The Exotic fish called the Ancient Depth Serpent was added to Fisch with the The Depths update.

People need to know how and when to catch this big fish because it’s not always there. Read on to learn how to get your own Ancient Depth Serpent.

Where to find the Ancient Depth Serpent in Fisch

You can only catch the Ancient Depth Serpent in The Depths. You need to use a Strange Whirlpool to get to Vertigo and then find The Depths Key, which is a big red and black key.

You can get to The Depths through the door in Vertigo that is marked with red crystals once you have this key.

Make sure you have a Fish Radar before you go down to Vertigo if you don’t already have one.

On Moosewood, you can buy Fish Radars from the rocks next to the Shipwright. When you get close enough to where certain fish spawn, they can tell you where to catch them. They cost 8,000C$.

It’s hard to find the Ancient Depth Serpent because it doesn’t have a single start spot. Having seen it spawn more than once, though, it always does so to the right of the Merchant, along the road with the two stone piers.

At coordinates (940, 735, 1405), it could spawn next to one of the piers. At coordinates (1085, 740, 1445), it could spawn further along, past the piers.

Why do I keep talking about the fish spawning? Because you can’t just fish in these places and catch it. It is only possible to get the Ancient Depth Serpent during the Absolute Darkness weather event. This will be obvious because The Depths will get so dark that you won’t be able to see anything, and the game will make a loud noise.

To find where the Ancient Depth Serpent will spawn, turn on your Fish Radar and look for either a bright golden square in the water or the word “Ancient Depth Serpent” written in rainbow-colored text on your screen. When you see either one, move toward that spot until you reach the yellow square.
