The time displayed on your iPhone has several different settings that you can customize. One of these functions allows you to choose whether the time is displayed in 12-hour or 24-hour format. But the menu that houses the date and time settings can be hard to find if you haven't used it before or if you haven't made any changes to it in a while.

How to exit wartime on iPhone SE
The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone SE running iOS 10.3.2. This guide assumes that your device's time is currently displayed in 24-hour format rather than the 12-hour format that uses the AM and PM qualifiers. Following these steps will return you to the 12-hour format. If you are using an older version of iOS, this guide will show you how to update it.
Step 1: Open the settings menu.
Step 2: Select the "General" option.
Step 3: Scroll down and click the "Date and Time" button.
Step 4: Click the button to the right of the 24 hour time to turn it off. The time at the top of the screen should automatically update to display the time in AM or PM. I switched from 24 hour time in the picture below.
Just like your iPhone, your Apple Watch can also be set to use military time. Learn how to enable 24-hour format on your Apple Watch if you prefer this setting. Please note that you do not need to have both of your devices use the same time format. They can be different if you like.
