Have you ever wondered how to diagnose quirks in Pacific Drive? As you drive, your car may develop odd behaviors, or quirks, that can hinder your progress. Fortunately, diagnosing these quirks is a straightforward process thanks to the Tinker Station.

This guide will walk you through how to identify and fix those quirky issues, ensuring that your journey is as smooth as possible. Get ready to keep your car in top shape and explore with confidence!

Using the Tinker Station

The Tinker Station is a special machine designed to help you identify and repair any quirks your car develops while exploring the Zone. You’ll find it conveniently located next to the battery charger in the Auto Shop.

When you approach the Tinker Station, you’ll notice its interface resembles an old 8-bit computer. It has four lists: two for car components and two for unexpected behaviors. To diagnose a quirk, you need to identify a specific problem with your car.

For example, if your horn honks every time you close the trunk, you would select “Trunk” and “Closes” from the first two lists, then “Horn” and “Honks” from the second two lists. Remember, quirks are randomly assigned, so keep an eye out for any odd behavior while driving!

After selecting the appropriate options, you’ll move to the next page where the Tinker Station will suggest possible solutions. This will indicate which repair kit you need, such as a Mechanic’s Kit, an Electrician’s Kit, or a Light Replacement Kit. Sometimes, you might need a combination of these kits. Once you have the necessary kit in your inventory, select the identified quirk and confirm to fix the issue.

Keep in mind that you have a limited number of guesses to identify quirks. Each incorrect guess will reduce your remaining attempts. However, your guesses will reset once you return to the Auto Shop from the Zone.

Upgrading the Tinker Station

Diagnosing less obvious quirks can be tricky, especially if you don’t immediately notice something strange happening with your car. To make diagnosing easier, you can upgrade the Tinker Station. Two upgrades are available: the Investigator Module and the Analysis Module.

To unlock these upgrades, head to the Fabrication Station after activating the Matter Regenerator. Here’s what you’ll need for each upgrade:

Investigator Module:

  • 1 kLIM Stable Energy
  • 1 Circuit Board
  • 4 Copper Wire
  • 10 Scrap Metal
  • 2 Glass Shards

Analysis Module:

  • 1 kLIM Unstable Energy
  • 10 Plasma
  • 1 Circuit Board
  • 8 Copper Wire
  • 10 Scrap Metal

With these upgrades, the Tinker Station can narrow down where the quirks might be located, making it easier for you to diagnose and repair issues. However, you’ll still need to piece together the remaining information yourself.

Final Thoughts

Now that you know how to diagnose quirks in Pacific Drive, you’re ready to tackle any challenges your car throws at you. Make sure to keep an eye on those odd behaviors, and don’t hesitate to use the Tinker Station to keep your vehicle running smoothly. Enjoy your journey, and drive safely through the Exclusion Zone!
