Plain wreaths are quite cheap to buy and it allows you to customize them to your own style, so here are my steps for how to decorate your own Christmas wreath.
1. Choose wreath
This pretty faux ivy wreath has a slight dusting of glitter that makes it look like it’s frosted and it shimmers in the light.
2. Choose decorations
Choice of decoration is limitless as you can always cut down bigger pieces to the size you require. Faux foliage, baubles, clip on birds, ribbons and all sorts of bits and pieces can be wired to attach to the wreath.
3. Wire in lights
Small, battery operated lights are just the right size for a wreath and can be simply wired to the wreath to hold them in place.
4. Use wire to wrap around decorations
Acorns look lovely sprayed gold or silver and then simply wrap fine wire around them (either florists wire or you can by wire on a spool for jewelry making).
5. Attach to wreath
To attach the decorations to the wreath simply twist the wire around branches on the wreath.
6. Add bow
Finally add a big bow (optional, of course) and hang it on your front door – or in my case above the mantelpiece, which you can see in last weeks post on styling the seasons.
