Avoid patterned wallpapers and anything that makes the room look busy. Consider reupholstering and switching to light coloured cottons and linens and perhaps add a shaggy or seagrass rug. To inject some personality and small patterns, use things like pillows and also consider the accessories such as photo frames, lighting, vases etc. that you use to ensure they match your theme.
- Bedrooms: use a similar guide to your living room, use light colours and avoid making the room too busy looking.
