Before you start the Ice Puzzle, make sure you have the necessary items:

  • Lantern: Crucial for thawing frozen levers. Obtain it by interacting with the Keeper NPC behind the lighthouse in Moosewood during nighttime.
  • Glider: This facilitates swift movement between distant locations. It can be purchased from the albino merchant in Roslit Bay’s main village area for 900 C$.
  • Pickaxe: Required to break through cave walls concealing certain levers.
  • Cloak: Protects the harsh cold environments encountered during the expedition.
  • Oxygen Tank: Essential for maintaining breath during high-altitude climbs; consider upgrading for extended use.

To solve the Ice Puzzle, you have to find and pull six switches that are spread out across the Northern Expedition island.

You can only use these levers once during a game session, because their state resets when you leave the game or switch servers.

Here’s a full list of where each lever is located:

  1. Lever One:
    • Location: Inside a cave near the third base camp.
    • Coordinates: Approximately 19870, 629, 537.
    • Instructions: Use the pickaxe to break the cave walls, then equip the lantern to thaw and activate the lever
  2. Lever Two:
    • Location: Near the fourth base camp, on a small rock before the Cryogenic Canal.
    • Coordinates: Approximately 19437, 690, 5856.
    • Instructions: Glide from the third to the fourth base camp, then proceed to the right. Climb the mountain, using the oxygen tank as needed, to reach the lever.
  3. Lever Three:
    • Location: Near the fourth base camp, on a rock platform to the left of the Cryogenic Canal.
    • Coordinates: Approximately 20195, 855, 5646.
    • Instructions: From the Cryogenic Canal, glide left to the rock platform. The lever is hidden on the opposite side; ensure oxygen tanks are refilled before attempting.
  4. Lever Four:
    • Location: Adjacent to a large snowy tree, accessible from the third lever’s location.
    • Coordinates: Approximately 19600, 544, 5613.
    • Instructions: Glide from the third lever’s platform towards the prominent snowy tree to find the lever nearby.
  5. Lever Five:
    • Location: On a rocky outcrop behind the big yellow tent at the fourth base camp.
    • Coordinates: Approximately 19854, 476, 4970.
    • Instructions: From the fourth base camp, move behind the yellow tent, follow the outcropping, and glide to the larger outcrop on the left. Climb to the top to find the lever.
  6. Lever Six:
    • Location: Within the Frigid Cavern, beyond the Overgrowth Caves.
    • Coordinates: Approximately 19880, 425, 5380.
    • Instructions: From the fourth base camp, proceed right, climb the ladders, and glide down following the path through the Overgrowth Caves into the Frigid Cavern. Navigate the narrowing path to a clearing with a star symbol; the lever is adjacent.
