Cleaning a sofa is not only used to take care of the aesthetics of our interior. This gesture is of greater importance, because it eliminates all potentially dangerous contaminants. Dust and small particles left on sofa upholstery can pose a threat, especially to allergy sufferers. In addition, cleaning the sofa eliminates odors that enter the furniture, such as those coming from the kitchen.

Ingredients to clean the sofa

  • A bowl
  • 600ml hot water
  • 1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • Half a glass of alcohol
  • 2 tablespoons of glass cleaner (optional)
  • A pan or saucepan lid

How to clean the sofa

  • First, pour water into the bowl. Then add dish soap.
  • Mix thoroughly so that the liquid dissolves and foams a little.
  • Then add the baking soda and stir again to dissolve.
  • Pour the alcohol into the mixture, then mix everything well.
  • Add the glass cleaner (which will improve the cleaning effect), but you can also skip this step. Your homemade detergent will do its job well on its own.
  • Put a cloth in the prepared product, soak it well and wring it out (it should not be wet).
  • Then put him on the couch.
  • Then place the cover in the middle of the fabric.
  • Lift the corners of the material and press.
  • Wipe the sofa in circular motions and you will immediately see the difference!

If you accidentally soiled your couch, spray the stain with glass cleaner and wipe it off with a damp cloth. Dirt will be gone in no time!

If you have spilled a liquid on your sofa or armchair, it will be important to clean it up immediately, to prevent it from drying out and leaving traces. A very effective trick is to use absorbent paper towels to remove the liquid that has fallen on the fabric.

If it is not water, we recommend using a mixture of lukewarm water and Marseille soap to avoid stains. Use an old toothbrush to apply this cleanser to the area in question. To dry, use a hair dryer, keeping it away from the sofa.
