If you find that your car tire is flat, you should slowly drive the car to a flat place where the safe area to change the tire so as to prevent further damage to the tire and the rim. Also, put a warning triangle in a suitable place behind the vehicle, and turn on the emergency warning light.
There are risks when changing a tire. The vehicle may slide off the jack, tip over or fall upon you or others, thus causing serious injury. Please find a flat and safe place to change tires. All passengers must leave the vehicle and wait in a safe place. To prevent the vehicle from moving.
How to change a tire
1. Park on a flat surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Set the shift lever to the Parking Gear “P” for automatic and "Neutral for" for manual transmission.
3. Turn off the engine. When the car is being lifted, do NOT start the engine again, do not let passengers stay inside the car. To ensure that the car will not move, place a stopper in front of and behind the tire which is farthest away from the tire to be replaced. (the tire which is diagonal from the tire to be replaced)
4. Loosen the various wheel bolts first using the tire wrench included on your car toolset. Turn the wheel bolts counterclockwise to loosen them. To get maximum torque, be sure to put the wrench into the bolt as shown in the diagram above, hold the end part of the wrench handle and pull it upwards. Do not let the wrench go off the bolt. Do not remove the bolt. Instead, loosen it by approximately one circle.
5. Put the jack at the right lifting point. Be sure that the jack is placed on flat, solid ground. If you are not sure on where to put the jack, check your car user manual it indicates the correct lifting points of your car.
6. As shown in the illustration, use the jack-use wrench and the wheel bolt wrench to turn the jack clockwise and lift the vehicle until the leaking tire is off the ground While lifting, observe the car condition. If you feel that the car body is apparently tilting, you should stop lifting, find out what the problem is and only resume lifting after the problem has been fixed. Remove the wheel bolts first and then the leaking tire. Exercise extra care when removing the wheel bolts, because these bolts could be very hot because the car comes from traveling. Put the leaking tire on the ground, with its outer surface facing upwards.
7. After removing the flat tire, start the spare tire installation. Before mounting the tire, use a wire brush (or similar tool) to remove all corrosive items from the mounting surface. When doing tire installation, Align the mounting hole of the spare wheel with the mounting hole in the brake disc.
When mounting the wheel bolts, use your hand to tighten them first. Then, push the wheel backward to see if it can be tightened a bit more. After the wheel bolt was installed, Turn the jack handle clockwise to lower the vehicle before tightening the tire using the tire wrench.
9. Now use the tire wrench to tighten the wheel bolts. Aside from your hand, do not use other tools or leverage tools like a hammer, a pipe or afoot, and be sure that the wrench is tight on the bolt. Tighten the wheel bolts using the sequence as illustrated to evenly tighten the wheel bolts.
The wheel bolts should be evenly tightened following the sequence as shown in the illustration. After the wheel is mounted, go to a tire shop as soon as possible to have the wheel bolt tightening torque checked. If a bolt is rusted or difficult to turn when the wheel is replaced, the bolt must be replaced when checking the wheel bolt tightening torque, and the threaded hole should be cleaned. Also as part of your tire maintenance, you must know how often to rotate tires to prevent uneven tire wear which may damage your tire.
