Expedia is a popular travel website used to book flights, hotels and car hire. For frequent travellers, Expedia can help you to organise trips and save money on your flights, hotels and car hire by comparing prices from different websites.
Users also get rewards every time they book through the site which can be redeemed against future bookings. Expedia boasts around 37 million Expedia rewards members across 32 countries, making it one of the most popular bookings and rewards companies in the world.
If you have made a booking through Expedia and you wish to cancel it, follow steps one to four. If you would no longer like to be a member of the Expedia website, you can skip straight to step five to learn how to cancel your Expedia account.
You will not be able to cancel your account if you have pending bookings, so you may need to cancel all bookings before going ahead with this step.
Step one: Navigate to the Expedia website
The first step in your journey to cancel your Expedia booking is to head to the Expedia website. Go to www.expedia.co.uk and then make sure you are logged into your personal account.
Before going any further, make sure you are logged in to the same account you made the booking with. For example, if you and your partner both have an Expedia account, check which account make the booking before going any further.
Once you are logged in, you should be able to see all past account activity, including your pending bookings.
Step two: Choose the service you wish to cancel
Once you are logged into your account, click on "Manage Trips" which is located in the top right of the screen. You can then select the service you would like to cancel, or see all of your bookings by clicking on "Itineraries".
Cancel Expedia flights
To cancel a flight booked through Expedia, you will need to click on "Itineraries". You should now see Upcoming, Unbooked and History at the top of the screen.
Make sure you are on the Upcoming screen and then find the flight you would like to cancel. Unless you have purchased a refundable flight, you will unlikely be able to get a refund on your ticket.
By contacting your airline, you may be able to move your dates for a fee or transfer the flight to another named passenger for a fee. If you have booked a non-refundable ticket, your only options may be to move your flight or transfer it to another person. Otherwise, you will lose the value of the flight.
Cancel Expedia hotel reservations
If you have booked a hotel through Expedia, you may be able to cancel your reservation and get a full refund.
First, check the fine print of your original booking. Some hotels allow you to cancel up to 24 hours before without a penalty. Most hotels will have a cancellation deadline, after which you will need to pay for the full amount of your stay.
If you need to change your hotel booking dates, you can do this through your online account.
Cancel Expedia car hire
If you have booked car hire through Expedia, you can change or cancel your booking online. Like hotels, many car hire companies will have a cancellation deadline, after which you will need to pay the full amount.
To cancel a booking, log in to your Expedia account, select Itineraries from the Manage Trip drop down and then click on "Manage" next to your car hire booking. From here, you will be able to make changes to your booking, including cancelling your booking.

If you would prefer to contact Expedia by email rather than picking up the phone, you can do so by emailing .
When contacting the company by email, be sure to include as many details as possible about your booking. It may take longer to sort out your cancellation if they have to go back and forth gathering important information.
Step five: Close your Expedia account
If you would no longer like to be a member of the Expedia community, there are steps you can take to cancel your account. Note that this won't be possible if you have pending bookings, as this would leave you with no way to manage your bookings.
If you would like to cancel your Expedia account, click on Support and then Customer Support. Click on Contact Us and then you will see a contact form. Choose the options Other and then Account Settings and you will then be presented with a form. Use the form to send a message to Expedia letting them know you would like to cancel your account.
