How to Break Stone in Valheim – Pickaxes

To break stones or rocks you need a pickaxe, of course the better it is the faster you can mine any rock. So we explain how to make the simplest pickaxe and the best

Antler Pickaxe

It’s not the most effective way to break stone or rock, but you’ll need it for your first few stones.

x1 Antler Pickaxe = x10 Wood + x1 Hard Antler (Mining = 18)

Ingredients:

  • Wood: Branches, Bushes, Any Tree/Stump…
  • Hard Antler: dropped by Eikthyr, the first Boss

Broze Pickaxe

As soon as you can change to the Bronze pickaxe, you will notice a lot of difference when mining stones or rocks

  • 1 Tier: x1 Bronze Pickaxe = x3 Core Wood + x10 Bronze (Mining = 25)
  • 2 Tier: x1 Bronze Pickaxe = x1 Core Wood + x5 Bronze (Mining = 29)
  • 3 Tier: x1 Bronze Pickaxe = x2 Core Wood + x10 Bronze (Mining = 33)
  • 4 Tier: x1 Bronze Pickaxe = x3 Core Wood + x15 Bronze (Mining = 37)

Ingredients:

  • Core Wood: Chop Pine Trees found in the Black Forest, or grown from Pine cones with a cultivator (require Stone Axe)
  • Bronze: made by processing 2 Copper and 1 Tin at the Forge

Iron Pickaxe

And of course if you want to get the maximum potential at maximum speed to any stone or rock, your goal will be to get your first iron pickaxe

  • 1 Tier: x1 Iron Pickaxe = x3 Core Wood + x20 Iron (Mining = 33)
  • 2 Tier: x1 Iron Pickaxe = x1 Core Wood + x10 Iron (Mining = 38)
  • 3 Tier: x1 Iron Pickaxe = x2 Core Wood + x20 Iron (Mining = 43)
  • 4 Tier: x1 Iron Pickaxe = x3 Core Wood + x30 Iron (Mining = 48)

Ingredients:

  • Core Wood: Chop Pine Trees found in the Black Forest, or grown from Pine cones with a cultivator (require Stone Axe)
  • Bronze: smelted from Scrap iron in the Smelter using Coal as fuel
