How To Avoid A Car Accident

When driving, one of the biggest concerns that you will often have, is avoiding an accident at all costs. Now, there are many things that you can do to ensure that you are as safe as possible, but there is unfortunately always going to be a slight risk, because while you may be doing everything correctly, others may not be doing their part which results in them causing a car accident , and you may just be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Moments like these are extremely unfortunate, and you can only hope that you are able to react quick enough and come out unharmed.

It's important to know that driving is a privilege, not a right, and you have to be on the ball at all times when you're driving as you never know what may be around the next turn.

Here's how to avoid a collision as best as you can.

Remove all distractions

One of the biggest distractions while driving, is being on the phone. So many people end up texting, calling, or even making snapchats while they're driving. There is absolutely no reason for you to be doing this. If you are waiting for an important phone call, and it rings while you're driving - wait until there is somewhere safe for you to park, then call back when you're stationary. Phones cause you to take your eyes off the road and allows the mind to go somewhere else for a while, but you can't afford to do this as it only takes a second to hit something, or someone.

Never under the influence

Under no circumstances should you ever decide to drive when you're under the influence. You may feel absolutely fine, and you may get from A to B with no problems whatsoever, but this doesn't mean that it's okay. Your judgements change once you start indulging, and your reactions can get a lot slower, even if you're unaware of it yourself. This all results in you having less control over your vehicle . You might begin to go over the lines slightly. You may miss the stop signs. You might not notice bicycles or motorbikes on the road. You might forget to signal. - All of these things can cause an accident to happen, and it's a lot more likely if you've consumed too much.

This tends to happen more in younger drivers , but that doesn't mean they're the only culprit. It can be very exciting sometimes when driving and having friends with you in the car, or in another vehicle on the road beside you. Now when you're in these situations, you may find yourself getting egged on to go a little faster, or rev your engine. While this is usually just fun and games, it can turn very nasty very quickly. When you're in the moment, you may forget who else is around you, like pedestrians that are about to cross the road. And the faster you go, the harder it is for you to stop.
