October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. A lot of progress has been made, but there is still have a long way to go and your help is needed to fund a cure! Here are a few ways you can help by purchasing special products in the month of October:

A portion of the proceeds will benefit breast cancer awareness and research. This limited cocktail will be available for the entire month of October. Luxury lifestyle brand Elaine Turner® will donate twenty percent of proceeds from its BCA capsule collection to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center through December 31, 2015. Designer Elaine Turner has created a cheetah printed scarf, charm bracelet and men’s pocket square in her signature pink to support the cause. The fun and feminine color is a common thread in the brand’s logo, stores, website and lining of handbags as a nod to the importance of BCA and giving back throughout the year.
The “feminine and feel good” collection as described by Elaine, will be sold on ElaineTurner.com, in Elaine Turner stores and through MD Anderson’s Children’s Art Project catalog and online at www.childrensart.org. Retail prices are $48 for the pocket square, $78 for the bracelet and $98 for the scarf. Proceeds generated will be split between the Children’s Art Project and cancer research programs at MD Anderson.
Le Métier de Beauté Global Artist, Karen Maher will be at Neiman Marcus in Northpark Center on October 8th from noon to 4pm to host an afternoon dedicated toward creating awareness and raising needed funds. Le Métier de Beauté has a full line-up planned including make-up consultations throughout the day and a pink bar featuring a signature drink. Karen and her team will be applying the “Stephanie” Kaleidoscope with a donation of 30% of the total Kaleidoscope sales to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure during the month of October.

Hard Rock Cafe is uniting magicians, supporters and survivors in honor of the brand’s 16th annual PINKTOBER campaign. On Thursday, October 22, 2015, Hard Rock Cafe Dallas will host local band, Time Machine, for a concert performance benefitting Sisters Network, a local community-based organization that unites survivors, patients and health care professionals in the fight against breast cancer. A hot pink firetruck (complete with Dalmatians) from the Pink Heals organization will be featured outside the Cafe this evening.
Tickets are $10 per person, with proceeds from the concert going to Sisters Network. Additionally, a special pink cocktail and pink dessert will be available for purchase at the cafe during the event, with proceeds from the menu items also benefitting Sisters Network.
