No other automaker builds vehicles like this Rolls Royce. The legendary maker's luxury cars have always been known for their unfathomable sophistication, and that is still true today thanks to the company's formula for serenity.
The upcoming Ghost sedan, which will sport a minimalist "post-opulence" design theme, was supposed to be one of the quietest cars in the world, with a sumptuous interior that's probably quieter inside at triple-digit speeds than leafing through a newspaper at breakfast.

This silence begins with the foundation of this vehicle. The ghost is built around a rigid room frame, one made of aluminum. Not only is this material lighter than steel, which offers a number of obvious advantages in terms of driving dynamics and fuel efficiency, but it also transmits less noise. Parts of this structure are specifically designed to avoid large, flat sections that tend to resonate. In addition, both the floor and bulkheads of this car will be double-skinned, which will keep unwanted thugs out.
Laminated window glass blocks add even more noise, and the new Ghost is practically filled like a down comforter, loaded with over 220 pounds of mufflers and applied liberally to the roof, doors, and other places in the body. Even the tires are equipped with noise-dampening materials.
For an extra level of silence Rolls Royce The engineers also examined each vehicle component to see if it was making noise. For example, the HVAC ducts in the upcoming Ghost have been found to be a source of unwanted thugs and have therefore been redesigned. Even this car's driveshaft has been checked, changing its diameter and stiffness to avoid any unwanted commotion.
That obsessive quest for noise is admirable, but believe it or not, you can take things too far. According to Rolls-Royce, a vehicle that is completely quiet inside can be disoriented. In the ghost they added a little background noise. This so-called "whisper" is a subtle undertone that passengers experience as a "single, subtle note" according to a publication by the manufacturer. To achieve this, the trunk and even the seat frames were coordinated.
Aside from the impeccable refinement across the street, this next generation Rolls-Royce Ghost It is expected to offer all-wheel drive and four-corner steering, among many other features that are sure to please business tycoons and kings, oligarchs and mafioso around the world. We can't wait to see what this new ultra-luxury sedan looks like and, more importantly, experience its world's finest sophistication.
