How Often You Should Inspect Your Roof?

The answer of the question that how often you should get your roof inspected depends on many things like the kind of material which have been used for your roof and to what are the conditions your roof is exposed to specifically weather conditions. Many people think that shingles and tiles are essential part of the roof but structure of the roof need regular inspection. Roof’s structure is made of trusses and rafters and these things give support to its structure. Top layer of roof is sheeting material, made of sheet metal, it cover the rafters. Its upper layer is base layer, it is the layer on which shingles and tiles are placed. This is quite complex to check it by yourself and this is the part that will be damaged very soon. This part often needs repairing. The gutters should be dressed in for keeping roof in good condition.

Damaged roof:

After storm, checking your roof can avoid damage, often storm can cause damage to your roof. Water leakage and water stains are the damages caused by cold weather mostly. Damaged or crackled tiles and shingles and sunlight which are visible in the attic are other signs of damages and they need to be repaired as soon as possible. Molds, water seepage and debris can also cause trouble. If you notice any of these signs, you should know that your roof needs inspection and it should be done by some professional.

Choosing the right roofing materials:

The cost of your roof inspection depends on the kind of materials which is used in your roofing. Commonly used shingles for roof covering are composite and asphalt shingles, these are widely used in United States and wooden shingles are on the second number because of their material, they are getting popular.

Asphalt and composite shingles need professional inspection every three years, wooden shingles too needs inspection every three years and tile roof need inspection in every five years. These shingles have longer life expectancy.

Advantages of regular inspection:

Good maintenance of the roof has good lifespan. Well maintained last till twenty years and in those twenty years you don’t have to replace the roof. Tile can last till hundred years. If you get your roof inspected by professional contractor, then, you don’t have to be worried about your roof. They will inform your about your roof and by regular inspection, if there is any problem will be solved in the initial stage.
