How Moms Can Stay Organized in a Digital World

By Stilettosanddiaperbags @Sadbblog
It is no secret that mothers are among the busiest people on the planet. How do they find time for it all? According to a report by The Working Mother Research Institute more than a third of all mothers (working or at home) feel guilty about balancing time with the kids, the state of their homes, lack of time with their spouse, and time spent taking care of themselves. Clearly, they need help organizing their busy schedules, and in a digital world there is help close at hand.

Save Time in the Cloud

Taking pictures has been a part of family life since people began using personal cameras. Mothers have been the guardians of family photos, spending hours organizing them in albums and boxes. Storage methods have changed increasing not only the lifetime of photos, but also saving mothers precious time. Mozy is a cloud based backup and file sync system. According to its website, the Mozy Stash feature is a file synchronization feature that allows Mom to keep her active data, including photos, music, and financial documents, all up to date across all of her computers, smartphones, and tablets. All she needs to do is place a file in the Stash folder and it is immediately available online. By placing them in the cloud, she not only saves time, she protects those files from life’s little tragedies. She doesn’t need to worry about the kids spilling Kool-aid on those wedding photos or about Rover eating those irreplaceable pictures of Bobby’s birthday. If the computer, smartphone or tablet is damaged by fire or storms, all of her photos and important files remain safe and easily accessible in the cloud.

Managing the Family Schedule

There never seems to be enough time in the day when you’re a mother. The best way to find more time in the day is to effectively manage your schedule. No matter what your family’s schedule consists of, Google Calendar can help you keep track of everyone. Football, soccer, ballet, science fair, conference calls, baby coming home from daycare on Thursdays, husband working late on Friday… That was just one week!Google Calendar allows you to share events when you need to so the whole family can easily see where they need to be and when. Color coding makes it easy to see who is doing what on any given day. You can also set up recurring events on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. Simply add an all-day event and set it to repeat every day, week, month or year on that date.If you or your husband travels, you can share flight and hotel information with each other. Whether it’s a business trip or a family vacation, Google Calendar can help you manage flight times and changes on the go. This is great for those occasions when a flight is delayed or cancelled. No time is wasted driving to the airport unnecessarily. You can sync Google Calendar with all of your mobile devices and computers. There is no better way to effectively manage your schedule and find time for things. Here is a video I found that takes you through step by step on how to set up your calendar. I hope you guys find this useful!
