One of the most asked questions I get is ‘how do you fix your hair?’. While I am not going to pretend to be a hair expert, I will share with you all how I personally do my hair and what I have found that works for me.These are the only things you need…well besides hairspray (I use this kind), to get that ‘Big Texas Hair’…a.k.a. Volume & Curls! I have found that this blow dryer does the trick FAST and these rollers (the 5 pack is my favorite because it doesn’t take up a lot of space) are the best. Yes, the blow dryer is a bit on the expensive side but trust me girls, it’s worth it!
Now before you begin rolling your hair, blow dry your hair normally. For me, I let my hair air dry as LONG as possible and then run a blow dryer on it for like 3 minutes. If I am in a hurry I blow dry the second I get out of the shower so I can get my hair in rollers ASAP and do my make up while my hair ‘sets’ (it’ll make sense one you get to the end of this post). I also use this brush but I’ve never been picky about brushes.
Ok, now…Step One:
Pull hair half up/half down and divide the bottom second into two parts.Step Two:
Start from the bottom of your hair and roll the hair ‘over’ the hot roller. Basically roll the roller around the hair until you have rolled all the hair and the hot roller is now against your head. Clip and move onto the other second on the bottom half of the hair.Step Three:Now for the ‘top half’. Divide the side heavier side of your hair in two (the side with more hair). The heavier side is the side that gets ‘two rollers’. Repeat Step Two on how to roll a roller. After you put the two rollers on the heavier side, put the last roller on the ‘light side’Major Key Alert: for your front piece of hair, go the opposite way..so now you are rolling the hair ‘under’ the roller. See below. Step Four:Spray your hair with hair spray (I use this brand in the medium finish). Now, let the rollers ‘set’ until they cool. I usually wait like 7 minutes on days when I am in a rush and when I have time I usually let the hot rollers set for up to twenty (while I do my make up).
Step Five:All you have to do now is unclip the clips and the hot rollers just roll out!
Step Six:
Run hands through hair to separate the curls and blend the hair and just like that you are ready to go…with that Big Texas Hair!I also did this post earlier in the week on my summer haircare favorites (click here to see the post). Let me know if you have anymore questions! xx
