How Cybersecurity Levy Would Protect Nigerians From Cyber Criminals Like MMM And Others- Reno Omokri

In a series of tweets, former Presidential Aide and social media commentator Reno Omokri has highlighted the vulnerability of Nigeria’s cybersecurity system, citing the infamous case of the Mavrodian Mondial Moneybox (MMM) scam that duped hundreds of thousands of Nigerians of nearly half a billion dollars.

Omokri pointed out that the success of schemes like MMM was enabled by the country’s weak cybersecurity infrastructure. He emphasized the need for a cybersecurity levy, which he claimed would provide protection to Nigerians against cybercriminals like MMM and other Ponzi schemes.

According to Omokri, international fraudsters exploit weaknesses in Nigeria’s cybersecurity system, capitalizing on opportunities created by inadequate measures. He likened the situation to blood in the water attracting sharks, stating that predators do not show sympathy but instead seize upon vulnerabilities for their own gain.
