Hotel Review: Novotel Citygate Hong Kong - Decaffeinato!

Nothing is more soothing than seeing the word 'decaffeinato' in a hotel room when you are on a caffeine-free regimen and yet suddenly hell-bent on having a good cup of joe. Novotel seems to know your needs.

Novotel Citygate Hong Kong is located at Tung Chung near the Hong Kong International Airport, AsiaWorld Expo, and the attractions on the Lantau Island such as Disneyland and the Big Buddha. 

Admittedly, its location is slightly inconvenient as it is far from the city center. But the bright side is that there are numerous outlets selling discounted quality goods at the shopping mall Citygate. Furthermore, some suites at the hotel offer access to their lounge with free refreshments and drinks. Quiet, sunlight, spacious, air-con and flat screen TV - the much-needed relaxing lounge is perfect for guests after a jam-packed schedule or a long-haul flight. And their complimentary breakfast is amazingly multifarious, full of a wide variety of delectable food including smoked salmon. 
Another good thing about Novotel is that the hotel is rather eco-friendly in terms of recycling, using LED bulbs, and other green measures. The hotel is EarthCheck certificated, won the bronze award for 2010 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence – Hotels and Restaurants, and has just become the 2013 winner for Certificate of Excellence on TripAdvisor.
Personal Note: During my stay, the receptionist was exceptionally friendly to us; she practically ran to fetch me some bandaids when I asked if they had any.
