TVS Jupiter is the second best selling scooter in the country after Activa. On this day, the company crossed the milestone of 70 lakh sales of the scooter. 71,40,927 units of this scooter have been sold in the country. It is selling only 110 cc scooters. The combined sales of the 110 cc and 125 cc models are over 1 crore 10 lakhs. This is 62 percent of the company's total scooter sales.
The highest selling two wheeler in the company's portfolio is now the Jupiter. This scooter did the most business in FY 2024 – 8,44,863. The previous highest sales were in 2018 – 8,10,916. Jupiter is also the company's best selling two wheeler in 2024, followed by XL100 moped (4,81,803), Raider 125 (4,78,443), Apache series (3,78,112), Ntorq scooter (3,31,865).
Notably, in the first nine months of the current fiscal, TVS delivered 7,01,360 Jupiter scooters across its showrooms across the country, up 22 percent (April-November 2023, 5,65,850 units). Even in April-November 2024, the Jupiter is way ahead of its other models – NTorq (2,52,698), Raider (2,95,863), Apache (3,08,654) and XL Moped (3,58,096).
On the other hand, TVS Motors has exported over 80,000 Jupiter scooters to foreign countries between fiscal 2014 and 2024. According to experts, regular new variants and upgrades of TVS have helped sustain this success and increase market share. After the success of its first 125 cc sporty scooter, the Sporty Entorque, TVS launched the Jupiter 125 model in October 2021. The larger and more powerful Jupiter 125 cc model has increased under seat storage.
Again in August 2024, TVS launched the Jupiter 110 with new styling. It is powered by a 113.3 cc single cylinder, 4 stroke engine that produces 8 horsepower and 9.8 Nm of torque. Moreover, the new model includes iGo Assist and several first-class features. The 110 cc model is now based on the same platform as the 125 cc.
