Homeland Security Issues Bulletin Using TheDomains.com List Of Boston Domains

It was  a pretty busy week for us at TheDomains.com.

Our stories on the registration of domain names here and here, was picked up by news outlets all around the world and was the basis for a bulletin put out by the Department of Homeland Security.

The bulletin was issued one day after our initial posts on domain registrations involving the tragic events in Boston by The National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center a division of Homeland Security and alerted the public to Twitter handles and domain names:

“”Individuals wasted no time registering domain names related to yesterday’ explosions at the Boston Marathon.

Some of the domains are likely to take advantage of those interested in learning more details about the explosions. Others will likely target individuals looking to contribute to fundraising efforts. It is unclear what each registrants intent may be, but historically scammers, spammers and other malicious actors capitalize on major news events by registering such domains.”"

The bulletin then used the list of 125 domain name we prepared and credited TheDomains.com with the preparation of the list.…
