New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods reveals that the most delightful surprises may await right in your own backyard! Falling for a handsome stranger on the very morning they meet is hardly what recently divorced Abby Miller planned for her return to Seaview Key. Hoping to mend an old friendship and to give back to the community she loves, Abby's definitely not looking for love. For ex-soldier Seth Landry, Seaview Key seems like the perfect place to heal a broken heart…eventually. And when he rescues a beautiful woman on the beach, his nightmares about the past are eclipsed by daydreams about the future. Neither Abby nor Seth are looking for forever, but powerful love has its own timetable. And taking a chance on the future will test their courage in ways neither of them could possibly have anticipated.
Once again another Sherryl Woods book to thoroughly enjoy. This book did not disappoint. Abby and Seth have an immediate attraction to each other, but they also have a lot of difference that are there to keep them apart. Firs off is their age difference, Abby is older than Seth by a bit and thankfully this was not something that stood in their way for too long. Then you have the fact that Abby has money, and while Seth might be living comfortably he’s not rolling in funds. In fact he’s seeing first hand how money is destroying his family as his older sisters are fussing and fighting about their parents wishes for their inheritance. One sisters irresponsibly with money has cost her her marriage, and while the inheritance money would fix things right now, with her spending habits she’s be in trouble in no time at all. So Seth is concerned how their differing financial backgrounds might lead to bigger problems. Then there is the fact that Abby used to date Luke Stevens, Seths’ friend from the army and now the husband of Hannah, Abbys’ old best friend from childhood. Hannah has had her own problems over the years and is quite insecure in Abbys’ intentions for Luke. There is lots going on in this story and its fun to see Abby and Seth try to fight their attraction, and then give in to it. To see how Abby and Hannah learn to let the past be and to forge on looking to the future, even when those doubts and questions from the past still pop up and rear their ugly heads.
