This is a very jet lagged Julia, writing to you from her bed at her family's house in Boston. I just got in from London last night, currently have no idea what time it is, and am compensating in lassic style by eating ALL the chocolate. And as this is my family we're talking about, there's a lot of chocolate - it's basically like living with the Keebler elves.*
Anyhoo, here's a roundup of some of my favourite** articles recently about travelling for the holiday season, particularly going home. I'm a Christmas nutcase, complete fanatic and obsessive, and compiling this list was both incredibly hard and pretty much the best thing I've ever done. For those of you travelling this season, I wish you safe and easy journeys.

* Why the Wachagga travel home for Christmas.* A little bit of kindness at the airport never goes amiss. (A lesson I take to heart - my immigration agent and I are now best friends.)
* I've been completely absorbed in ebola coverage this year, and stories like this one are my drug of choice. (Ebola relief will also be my cause of choice this season, and if you're interested, here are a few charities to consider supporting, in addition to the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders.)
* While we're on the continent, South Africa has given Zimbabwean visa applicants permission to go see their families for the holidays - though many fear they won't be allowed back.
*This has nothing to do with going home for Christmas, unless you happen to live in Derby, England, where a holographic Santa has taken up residence.
