I have been thinking about my food memories and they all start when l was little girl sitting at the table in the kitchen watching my mom cook. She was a very good cook, she made the most lovely suet pudddings, bread puddings, fish cakes. Her stews in winter with pearl barley and dumplings were just so delicious, so warming. I remember going with her to Brixton market and having hot roasted chestnuts. I also remember my mom making toffee apples, watching her making the toffee and waiting anixously for the toffee apples to cool down so that we could eat them, yummy!!.
I enjoy cooking myself and hope that l have pass on to my sons the love of cook and eating!
