Holmes Cay Single Origin Edition Fiji Rum Review

By Boozedancing @boozedancing

Another day, another Rum review...

This time around we're headed to the South Pacific for a taste of Holmes Cay Single Origin Edition Fiji Rum, a blended Rum that was created with the hosts of the Rumcast Podcast (click the following link to hear the story about this rum: https://www.rumcast.com/episodes/holmes-cay-rumcast-fiji-rum).

Here's a bit more information about this Rum taken directly from a recent press release...

Holmes Cay founder Eric Kaye brought his brand to life after years of traveling the globe and discovering that many special, hard to find rums rarely found their way to North America. He created Holmes Cay with the mission of discovering the rarest rums in the world, made with the utmost integrity. Since its inaugural release two-years ago, Holmes Cay Rum has curated a continuously evolving collection of the best small-batch, limited-edition single cask rums and has now created its newest Single Origin Edition, where the brand highlights very limited rum expressions from a single country or distillery, chosen for exceptional taste and versatility to help spirits lovers discover the exciting excellence and diversity of rum flavors. These Single Origin Editions are not only special for what they are, but this isn't something Eric plans on putting out regularly. Only when he finds the right rum, from a specific origin that he really feels strongly about, will he release it within this collection. The Holmes Cay 'Fiji Rum' is a blend and comes from various South Pacific Distilleries in Lautoka, Fiji. The spirit has grass, citrus and pepper on the nose, clove and honey on the tongue, and a pop of hay and pepper on its finish. Not only is the product perfect for sipping on its own on the rocks, but also works beautifully in cocktails.Unlike the Holmes Cay's ultra-premium Single Cask Editions, the brand's Single Origin Editions are more approachable in price - perfect for rum connoisseurs or those who are new to exploring the spirit.
