Can you believe it’s that time of year again?! I feel like I just took down my tree and now I’m getting ready to turn the house into a winter wonderland. Where does the time go?!

But one of the most requested gift guides this year has been for one years olds. So today I bring you, my gift guide for kids 12-24 months!

Now I know what you’re thinking, one year olds don’t really understand and you can totally skip by with not getting them anything. And yes, I’d agree to a certain extent. However, they still need to be stimulated physically and mentally during the day so why not get them things they can actually use and enjoy? Then everyone benefits!

Most of the things in this gift guide are things we personally have. So I know for a fact they can entertain a one year old! And while some of them may seem impractical because they can’t be used until the weather gets warmer, I feel that if I’m going to spend the money, I want to get her things she can use. And a lot of them can be used indoors until it’s nice enough to use them outdoors

  1. Anywhere chair: Piper loves to sit in her chair and read, do puzzles, dare I say watch TV? It’s her own little safe place and she loves it!
  2. Baby Shark puppet: I think we can all agree that Baby Shark is baby crack and I thought this puppet would be a fan favorite. We don’t have it (yet) but it’s will be under the tree!
  3. Hoppity Hop: She loves to bounce around and I thought this unicorn would be another good addition. They also have a dinosaur option as well.
  4. Slide: This is probably the most used toy in our house… and it’s SO simple! But she loves to climb on it and will go up and down it all day.
  5. Baby Shark book: Again, Baby Shark for the win. Piper loves to read so this having the sounds is an added bonus!
  6. Water table: Although this is more of a spring/summer activity, it could also be used with water beads for fine and gross motor activities or with race cars!
  7. Push around buggy: This is another one of our most used items. Although we’ve been using it for the past 6 months, it’s still a fan favorite!
  8. Toy kitchen: We got Piper a play kitchen on Amazon Prime day and she loves it! I loved that this one matched our decor and was super simple.
  9. Babies: know not everyone is into dolls but for us, she LOVES her baby. She loves to swaddle her and rock her and put her down the slide!
  10. Basketball hoop: This is a great activity for the family and it helps them work on fine and gross motor skills as well.
  11. Books in general: This is a great book to introduce words and animal sounds! We LOVE books- see another favorite gift idea below!*
  12. Where is Baby’s Belly Button: Another favorite book of ours! She loves to lift the flaps and show me her body parts and the baby’s!
  13. Ride on toy: She loves to ride this around the living room; they can also be pushed by a grown up which she likes as well.
  14. Bounce house: This was a summer purchase, yes, but I’ve also brought it indoors when desperate times call for desperate measures. This is also a gift that can be used for years to come. My 7 almost 8 year old still loves it and uses it!
  15. Roller coaster: This is another item I’m considering because she loves to climb and loves her ride on, so I know she would love this. It can also be an indoor or outdoor toy.
  16. 4-in-1 Trike: This is a great toy because it can be used for multiple stages in toddlerhood. So you’ll for sure get your money’s worth out of it!

Some other ideas I have for young toddlers are things like:

*Book subscriptions: We love Bookroo! It allows the kids to receive books in the mail every month; it’s the gift that keeps on giving! I also have a discount code to share; MERRYSAMANTHA will get you 15% off!

Gymnastics membership: We’re members of The Little Gym and love it, but we’ve also belonged to My Gym. I know there are other similar places so you may need to do a little research but it’s been so great for Piper and she LOVES it!

Panda crate: I haven’t personally used this crate yet but my son used to get the Kiwi Crates. This particular crate is for children ages 0-24 months and it contains age and stage appropriate products. Past crates have had things like books, toys, activities and more! I love this idea of toys that are also educational and assist healthy childhood development.
