Ariana Grande got engaged this week to Dalton Gomez and we can't keep our eyes off her engagement ring. The 7 Rings singer sealed the deal when Gomez proposed with a Toi et Moi ring. Now, they have something extra to celebrate this holiday season. Let's take a closer look at this holiday engagement ring in hope of some jewelry inspiration for 2021.
HOT 2021 TREND
Formally known as Toi et Moi - you and me in French - it is projected to be one of 2021's hottest trends. The style combines two different gemstones in one setting. It is said to symbolize two people coming together to become one. Common styles we've seen were one yellow diamond and one white diamond, one oval cut diamond, and one marquise cut diamond and an emerald paired with a ruby. Ariana's engagement ring features a pearl and oval cut diamond set on an east-west axis.
CELEBRITY FANS OF TOI ET MOI
Ariana isn't the only fan of this look. Model Emily Ratajkowski and singer Solange Knowles both own and wear this style. Emily's engagement ring is a Toi et Moi style princess cut stone and pear-cut diamond stone. Solange's Toi et Moi is an emerald cut diamond and a round cut diamond. Either way, celebrities wearing a Toi et Moi styled ring and now Ariana's engagement ring are putting this look at the forefront for 2021.
THE DETAILS
Ariana's ring is a pearl and oval cut diamond set on a delicate gold band. The diamond is reported to be about three carats and approximately $30,000 - $50,000; a relative bargain for a celebrity engagement ring. The pearl may have a special meaning as well. Fans have theorized that the pearl had pride of place in her late grandfather's tie pin before being reset into a ring for Ariana and (allegedly) found a new life in Ariana's engagement ring. Whether that theory is true or false, we know this ring has pride of place in her heart.
Holiday engagements are always special, whether one is a celebrity or not. Ariana's ring highlights one of our favorite emerging trends for 2021 and demonstrates that the best engagement rings always lead us back home. Do you own a Toi et Moi? Share your ring with us in the Comments section below.
