Hiller Ten99 Prototype

February 2013

Privately developed and flown in 1961, the Hiller Ten99 was a contender for a United States Navy Assault Support Helicopter program. It could seat six and featured clamshell doors at the rear.  This was also the first aircraft to have been powered solely by a PT6 engine. However, the Navy eventually selected the Bell HU-1 (Huey) instead.  This is my first posting with an iPhone photo.  Shot with f/2.4 aperture, there is less depth of field than I would have preferred.
