Average standardized test scores are getting high and higher as students from across the nation become more and more competitive for college and beyond. While some universities are starting to downplay the importance of SAT and ACT scores, most research suggests that standardized tests are still very accurate measures of brain power and general cognitive ability.
With this in mind, a recent study conducted by school analysis site Niche.com found the top 25 public and private high schools in the nation that produce the highest average SAT and ACT scores among its students. The information is based on self-reported scores from 75,834 users at 909 high schools from 2012-2014. Each school was required to submit at least 100 student responses in order to qualify.

7. Lynbrook High School in San Jose, CA (avg: 2140)
8. Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco, CA (avg: 2130)
9. The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT (avg: 2110)
