The leader of the Association of Former Political Prisoners from Constanţa, Paul Andreescu, says that several such messages are hidden in the walls of the Casino, put in jars. Written on any kind of material that will withstand the weather, without disintegrating in the plaster, scribbled for fear of being seen by the guards, the messages are now sought by the descendants of the detainees, but also by the specialists who repair the Casino. The news of finding this first message disturbed the daughter of a political prisoner who survived the detention but is no longer alive.
The woman wants to come to Constanţa, to indicate other hidden places where there are messages - as her father told her. Architect Cornescu was more than happy to get in touch with the daughter of an old worker to restore the beauty of the Casino. Together they will look for the secrets hidden by the political detainees set to build their freedom, but also their hope, in the walls of the symbol of Constanţa travel icon.
The ticket found on the wall is now in the possession of experts. "I spent a period of study and findings with these experts with my spouses Angela Horvath and Răzvan Gavrilă, especially regarding the various carpentry (wooden or metal doors and windows), as well as about the windows and stained glass windows. at the Casino. I found that almost all of them need to be replaced with elements that have the original shape and material. We were most advised about the window-shell symmetrical with the one from the Aquarium. We had a second meeting with the two experts, at the Queen Elizabeth Restaurant, across from the Casino.
The casino in Constanţa was severely affected by the Russian bombings from the Second World War that targeted the Port of Constanţa. The peninsular area near the Casino seafront was ruined. This is how the monumental houses of Constanţa (Manissalian Palace) disappeared, this is how the Archbishop's Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul was almost destroyed.
In 1951, the Casino was rebuilt, with specialists at hand, in communist prisons. The architect Cornescu likens the Casino of Constanţa to the famous Château d'If, a fortress-prison built between 1524 and 1531, on an island off the waters of Marseilles, where, over time, victims of the Inquisition were imprisoned, anti- royalists or revolutionaries. "From the 100 people in detention for the renovation of the Casino, the coordinators of the special team were chosen - the first was the architect Constantin Joja (in the first months of work), followed by the architect Ion Cristodulo (until the repairs were completed). They were supported by the engineer Ion Mărăşescu, the scenographer Mircea Marosin and the poet Ion Omescu.

Following the consolidation and restoration work, the casino will be relayed to the public circuit and the most important Art Nouveau building will be highlighted.
The casino will host cultural events, symposiums, exhibitions, a 200-seat multipurpose hall and a 150-seat festive hall.
The Constanta travel icon passed almost four years ago from the municipality to the National Investment Company to be restored, and since then the three organized auctions have been challenged and finally canceled.
The building entered last year's list of the seven most endangered sites in Europe.
The footbridge from the Casino - Mamaia area
The old footbridge at the Casino in Mamaia, considered a historical monument, could remain in the resort for many years to come. One way or another, it will be preserved, even after the beach is rehabilitated. Three variants are proposed for the restoration of the dam.The Dobrogea-Litoral Water Basin Administration proposed to the Ministry of Culture three options for conserving the footbridge in the Mamaia Casino area offered by the contractor of the works on Lot 2 Mamaia - SC Boskalis SRL within the European project "Coastal erosion reduction, Phase II (2014-2020 ) "Co-financed by the Large Infrastructure Operational Program (POIM) 2014 - 2020.
Taking into account the opinion of the Ministry of Culture and the County Directorate for Culture Constanța which prohibits the demolition of the "Bridge with Maritime Bar" objective - being declared a historical monument (known by locals and tourists as the Casino footbridge), ABADL requested impact studies from the entrepreneur and some concepts of incorporating the monument in the profile of the beach.
