Here Comes The Sun(shine Blogger Award)

Posted on the 05 June 2013 by Findthebluekey @FindTheBlueKey

sunshine-award1Well hello there, blogosphere! Of the top, I have to apologize for being a little inactive as of late, the world has been conspiring to hoover up all of my spare time in the past couple weeks, but I’ll be back with a vengeance, I promise!

Imagine my delight upon signing back in after a small hiatus to discover that I’ve been nominated for a Sunshine Blogger Award! It’s always been extremely gratifying to know that anyone out there enjoys my writing, when I was nominated for such an award, I was a combination of thrilled, touched and humbled. My earnest thanks to cary over at Recollections of Play for nominated me!

So there are a few rules to accepting this award, which are as follows:

1. Use the award logo in a post and/or on your blog. (On this post already, and I’ll be adding it to my About page!)
2. Include a link back to whoever nominated you. (Already done, and I’ll be including another link on my about page when I update it. Thanks cary!)
3. Offer 10 pieces of random information about you. (Let the randomness begin!)
4. Nominate ten other bloggers who ‘positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.’ (Coming at the end)
5. Let your nominees know about their much deserved award. (On it!)

Let the Random Information begin!

1. Despite being naturally unathletic, I’ve done a number of sports over the years, including over a decade of martial arts, years of hockey, soccer and softball. Despite not being the best, I still love to compete!

2. I grew up with lots of animals. My family had a small farm where we had a number of pets and three horses. And yes, I do know how to ride, though I haven’t done so in years.

3. When I was younger, I bore a striking resemblance to Haley Joel Osment of The Sixth Sense and A.I fame. Enough so that strangers on the street would come up and tell me.

4. I’m the biggest culprit for not having seen classic movies. For example, I’ve never seen Titanic, any of the Terminators, Back to the Future, Pulp Fiction or basically everything that has ever won a Best Picture Oscar.

5. I’m a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, and spend a chunk of my spare time just soaking up more and more of the lore(of which there is tons)

6. I love trivia, and as such I’m a wealth of random and useless knowledge. Things like who was the inventor of the zipper? What’s the capital of Mongolia? Which Roman Emperor split the empire in two? That would be Whitcomb Judson, Ulaanbaatar and Diocletian, respectively.

7. One of my favorite books of all time is sill Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxty, I’ve simply never read anything like it before or after.

8. It’s my dream to one day be frivolous enough to buy a replica of Glamdring, Gandalf’s sword from Lord of the Rings.

9. I’m an assistant coach for a youth hockey team during the summer, because why not?

10. I love to play Axis and Allies, also known as one of the longest board games ever invented. Imagine Risk on steroids. An average game between me and my friends lasts about 12 hours.

Okay! Now that you know a little more about me, its time to nominate some bloggers. Some of these fine folks have been nominated already(and rightly so!), but I feel compelled to nominate them anyway. These are blogs that have affected me personally, and helped me to grow as a blogger. As such, I feel like I need to recognize that when I have the opportunity.

1. PhoenixDown

2. simpleek

3. Pixel Bubble

4. Delver

5. Robo♥Beat

6. CheeeseToastieAndVideoGames

7. Geek Force Network

8. United We Game

9. Wrong Button

10. linksaveszelda

Seriously, go out and follow these blogs right now! Every one of them is immensely talented and a joy to read, and every one of them has helped push me towards growing and improving as a blogger. So to all of them, I want to extend an enormous thank you!

And thank you once again to cary at Recollections of Play, you have no idea how much I appreciate this.
