Search is on for Glasgow’s Best Independent Food Shop
For the third year, The BBC Good Food Show Scotland is on the hunt for Glasgow’s Best Independent Food Shop and they need your help!
BBC Good Food Senior Food Editor, Barney Desmazery will be helping to seek Glasgow’s hidden gems and calling on the locals to nominate their favourites.
This year you can nominate shops on Twitter and Instagram, and the shop with the most nominations will be shortlisted and visited by the judges.
The winner will receive a free stand at the BBC Good Food Show Scotland at the SECC from 6 – 8 November 2015 to showcase their shop to thousands of food loving visitors. Will Billington’s do it again?
BBC Good Food Senior Food Editor and Glasgow’s Best Independent Food Shop Judge, Barney Desmazery, says: “I’m so pleased to be running this competition for the third year in Scotland. Glasgow has such an amazing food scene and it’s a veritable larder of amazing local produce so the quality of independent food shops is always really high. I can’t wait to find the winner for 2015!”

We love finding undiscovered food havens and one of the greatest things about this scheme is that we get to make changes to deserving small businesses out there and give them the opportunity to promote themselves to thousands of food fans from the region!”
Judges will be looking at the following:
– Range of international and local produce
– Quality and value of produce
– Product knowledge and enthusiasm
– Customer service
– Services, facilities and community involvement
