This rather cryptic opening is in regards to today's product review, the GMYLE Macbook Pro Laptop Case. Right on the product packaging the tag boasts the following: "Beyond fashion and Protection". Herein lie the two worlds in question: 1. fashion and 2. protection. These are two easily identifiable product benefits that would combine to create a great product for someone who loves their laptop and is currently in the market for a case. I would classify myself as one of these "targeted" consumers.

The first claim that lies in "fashion" is the benefit of this case that was good enough to catch my eye. As a snobby instagram enthusiast, I love decorating my beloved tech in the hottest trends. Good looking cases for smartphones, tablets and laptops are all the rage and are increasingly looked at as fashionable accessories to one's person. The GMYLE case does deliver here when it comes to aesthetics. This lightweight case is fashioned with a feaux marble finish which is (at this point) up to fashion trends in 2017. It's great looking and clean and when viewed from a distance is deceivingly realistic.
This brings us to the second claim about protection. While the case delivers on the aesthetic side, and does cover the majority of the device (well, the proper device as the one we received was not the proper one for our MacBook Pro), the fact that remains is that it is on the lightweight side in terms of protection.
If all you are looking for is protection from scrapes, scratches and bumps, this case will definitely suit your lifestyle needs. However, if you have a damaging habit of dropping things on your laptop, or even worse, dropping your laptop itself, this might not be the heavy duty protection you may be needing.
In conclusion, for an every day computer user that wants a sharp looking, up to date accessory case, this will be a perfect style companion for your laptop. However, if you're constantly on the go and moving your computer a lot, I would perhaps opt for a more complete drop proof case. The GMYLE cases live up to their claims (as long as you don't read into the word "protection" as anything more than protection from scratches) and we will continue to recommend them for the typical consumer!
