Bye-bye beige

Beige is classic color palette, and it has been acclaimed by homeowners for years. Many see beige as a safe shade, and even though it is timeless, it doesn’t shine like it used to in the past. Once extremely popular, this year’s beige comes in patterns. It works beautifully with darker nuances of brown, burgundy and even black, so if you want adorn your home with beige wallpaper, opt for a mix or just stay away from the classical palette.

Luxurious accents with brass

Brass can either look tacky or unbelievably luscious inside a home. Brass-ware décor items are increasing in popularity this season, mainly in spaces such as the bath or the kitchen. Bold, ornamental pieces are sinks and tubs, although you can always buy coffee tables with brass accents or living room decorations. If you can afford to spend a couple of thousands on brass items, then do it. A single item placed someplace strategically will instantly add posh and luxury to that space. Tip – brass works ideally with vintage-like decorations and antique styles, so you might want to keep that in mind just in case.

Soothing wood

Honey-toned, light, fresh-looking woods are in trend this season. Cherry and oak are ideal choices because they’re both aesthetically appealing and durable. Opt for top-quality and be willing to spend a bit more if you want to have that item for generations to come. A wooden coffee table for example, can fit ideally in a classic living room adorned with traditional rugs, oil paintings, and fresh flower pots.

Endless shades of blue

Blue is a massive home décor trend this season. Specialists advise homeowners to include this color in more than one nuance. Opt for navy blue curtains and invest in a light baby blue rug to keep a balance. Some other variants you can take into account are cobalt, sapphire, azure, turquoise and teal. Blue is a calming shade reminiscent of the ocean. In the right combinations, it will transform a simple home into the most striking environment. Don’t forget to accessorize; include cushions, soft furnishings, cupboards, and couches in tones of white and light yellow to give your home the most soothing and welcoming appeal.

Black & white

Decorating a home with black and white can be extremely challenging, especially if you want the end result to be inviting, comfortable and stylish. Many people avoid this combination because it’s rather cold and impersonal; nonetheless, with the right type of furniture and the finest accessories, a black & white home can look fabulous. For instance, you can invest in a statement piece in a totally different shade, such as deep yellow for example. It will grab attention and thus give your space a minimalistic, modern appeal.

Timeless décor pieces

One of the smartest ways of decorating a home with good taste is by investing in timeless pieces. A dining table made of hardwood and glass will last for generations. And since we’re talking about glass, we should also mention that this material is extremely versatile. It can be used in combinations with metal, aluminum, plastic and other materials to add style into your personal space. Although designer glass furniture can be expensive, there are alternatives you can consider, such as DIY projects or vintage pieces.

We love this year’s trends in home design because they’re fresh, ingenious and sophisticated without overcrowding a residence. Glass in particular, reflects light. It opens up even the smallest spaces and it certainly adds comfort and coziness. In combination with shades of blue, glass can make your entire space feel bright and airy. We want our homes to make us feel at ease and relaxed, and believe it or not, sometimes the most insignificant details have the greatest impact.
