In recent years we have seen an increasing number of women with heart problems. Women are now equally at risk of heart disease as men are. While previously it was an assumption that women had low chances of heart diseases as compared to men.

Though it is true that cardiovascular diseases in women are less prevalent before the age of 40. It is due to the hormones God has given to women, before the age of 40 they are secure from heart-related issues unless there are some other complications.

The risk of heart problems usually remains low in women before 40. After Menopause, women develop coronary artery diseases at a faster rate than men in the same age group because the hormone production reduces considerably. Moreover, by then additional health conditions such as Diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol begin to affect the overall health.
In some cases, the conditions like PCOS and the treatment of cancer have also a role in increasing the chance of heart attack in women.

    Apart from chest pain, which is a common symptom in both men and women, women may also feel some kind of discomfort that may go unnoticed.
    Jaw pain, stomach issues, and Dizziness are more prominent signs of a heart attack in women.
    Heartburn, nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, sweating, and indigestion are some other unconventional symptoms mostly experienced by women.
    Since many of them are appears normal people often tend to ignore them.

After reaching menopause or crossing the age of 40, women should track some important numbers such as blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and BMI. If you have any of these not at the correct level try making basic changes to your lifestyle. Change your diet, exercise regularly, get enough sleep and take timely medication for these if you have any.

Follow a Protein-rich diet with an adequate amount of fiber. Go low on carbs. It will help you in reversing the atrial blockage.

One should also avoid excessive salt and sugar intake, instead of processed food go for healthier options like fresh fruits and vegetables.

To avoid any health condition, exercise regularly even during pregnancy, meditate, follow a hobby avoid drinking and smoking, and most importantly get regular checkups.
