We're not using a churn. We don't need a any machinery. Look, I don't have any machinery for making ice cream. And, I don't want another kitchen counter appliance to clutter my kitchen. Oh, yes, I'd love to have a gelato machine, but, again, it's more 'stuff' and I'm trying to move away from accumulating more and more stuff.

But, I do want to 'make ice cream'! And, I've done so with some other recipes that you might want to check out.

Now, these ice cream recipes aren't on the healthy side, but they're no churn and absolutely delicious! For instance, my Picnic Strawberry Ice Cream. Creamy and, yes, more sugar than this recipe, but, all I do is just have a couple of spoonsful of this recipe! Discipline. That's the key!

Another is my Orange Ginger Ice Cream. Hey, the fresh ginger is healthy!

High-Protein Ice Cream

Back to high-protein ice cream.

How do I create this. Well, it comes from Flavcity's Protein Vanilla Cream Smoothie mix. All clean ingredients. Twenty-five grams of protein per scoop. And, No refined sugars. Try using code ALLY15 and you just might get 15% off.

Yep, that's the key to creating this ice cream. There're other versions. But, those are for next recipes!

Protein-Powder Ice Cream

I'm not using coconut cream in this recipe. But, you certainly can IF you want it to be dairy free.

This really helps give the ice cream the 'creaminess' that you associate with the ice cream texture.

According to Masterclass, here's the difference between coconut milk and coconut cream. Then you might be thinking, should I use coconut MILK or coconut cream?

Coconut Milk vs. Coconut Cream: What Is the Difference?

Coconut cream and coconut milk are both made from coconut flesh and water, and both are popular milk alternatives. However, there are a few differences between the two.

  • Coconut to water ratio: Canned coconut milk is typically made of one part shredded coconut to two parts water. Coconut cream is made of four parts shredded coconut to one part water.
  • Consistency: Coconut milk has a thinner consistency, while coconut cream has a much thicker and creamier consistency. This is because coconut cream has a higher ratio of coconut flesh to water.
  • Uses: A can of coconut milk can be used as a base for Thai curries, laksas, soups, and stews. It can also be used as an alternative to dairy milk in smoothies or in coffee. Coconut cream is more typically used in desserts, either as a garnish or as a dairy-free alternative in ice-creams.

Best Protein Ice Cream Recipe

This protein ice cream is best in class, I think. Be sure to experiment with the very same ice cream recipe and use different fruits to top it off. Fruits that are in season, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, passion fruit, bananas and more. Or go with something like a warm chocolate ganache.
