Gently Exercise Every Day

Gentle exercise is very easy to do, even when you’ve only got a spare 10 to 15 minutes. For example, you could get up right now, put on a beginner yoga tutorial, and follow along at your own pace. Or you could go out for a walk around the block; put some headphones in and celebrate the way the sun or the breeze feels on your skin. Do something like this at least once a day and you’ll soon find yourself feeling much more supple, strong, and flexible.

Eat/Drink More Citrus Fruits

Citrus is incredibly good for you; it contains many healthy vitamins, such as Vitamin C, and can help fend off sickness during even the most bacterially active months. And while disease elimination is still very much in progress, giving your immune system a boost with fruits that can help protect your heart and kidneys is a good way forward. Squeeze some lemon juice into water, go eat an orange right now if you’ve got some in the house, or squeeze a lime over the next time you have a salad – it all works!

Try Out Mindfulness

Being mindful is about being in the moment. It’s where you check in with yourself and take a moment to realize how you feel, and what’s going on in this moment and time. In fact it’s one of the best ways to check out of reality for a bit and block out all the noise that’s overstimulating you. And you can do a bit of mindfulness right now! Turn off any music or the TV, close your eyes and breathe in and out slowly, and as you do check in with each and every body part. How do they feel? You should come out the other side incredibly relaxed.

Write Down Your Feelings

Writing down the way you feel is a good way to get out all your feelings without potentially hurting someone else’s. After all, you’re just telling the page in front of you what’s going on in your head, and it prevents you from needing to bottle up anything toxic. And there’s a lot of paper in a journal, so you can write for as long as you need to! Once it’s out you’ll feel much better, and you can use your written thoughts constructively in therapy sessions if you feel the need to.

If you want to be healthier, all it takes is a habit!
