Good News! HBO is finally going to allow people to pay for HBO without having cable! That sound you hear is the sound of all the cable networks screaming, as a change is coming. If HBO does this, surely Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and other like-minded cable stations will follow suit. It might even open up the door for networks like FX, USA, TNT, and Comedy Central to offer their programming sans-cable. HBO acknowledged that times have changed, and there are millions of non-subscribers out there that they are hoping to reach with this new business model. HBO already made big news earlier this year when it opened a bunch of its older titles to Amazon Prime users.
