HBO has teamed up with Facebook for its final pre-season True Blood Marathon called True to the End. But there’s a twist. HBO actually had all of the posts on their Facebook page reviewed by a company called Arktan including all likes, posts, and over 844,000 comments! The study gave HBO insight into its fans and has helped the network recognize the impact that the fan community has had on the series.
This information has allowed HBO to create a marathon tailored to the Truebies! Starting on Monday June 16th, HBO 2 will begin airing True Blood season 1 followed by season 2 the next night and so on and so forth leading up to the True Blood season 7 premiere. Before the airing of each season, Michael McMillian (Steve Newlin) will host a special segment that will highlight the findings from studying the True Blood Facebook page. These segments will be organized into themes such as “True Love,” “True Death,” “True Pride,” “True Dangers,” “True Power” and “True Scene Stealers.”
But that’s not all! Truebies can participate in this conversation actively by using #TruetoTheEnd all week long. Plus on Friday June 20, a brand new trailer will be released on the Facebook page!
The countdown to True Blood season 7 begins with the farewell show airing tomorrow June 15th. See the trailer here.
And be sure to “like” True Blood on Facebook to see the trailer in your timeline when its posted!
