Searing Appalachian set drama HAZARD illuminates America’s opioid crisis; World premiere slated for the prestigious Woodstock Film Festival running Oct. 15-20th

Award-winning director Eddie Mensore (MINE 9) returns with his new feature HAZARD, a moving and intense dive into the reality of America’s opioid crisis.

Featuring a stellar cast that includes Alex Roe (RINGS, FOREVER MY GIRL), Sosie Bacon, star of the smash hit SMILE, Dave Davis (RENFIELD, THE VIGIL) and Steven Ogg (THE WALKING DEAD, SNOWPIERCER).

The film is slated for its World premiere at the prestigious Woodstock Film Festival, which will run from October 15th to 20th, 2024.  The film will screen Fri, Oct 18th, 3:45 PM @ Tinker Street Cinema and Sat, Oct 19th, 10:15 AM @ Upstate Films (Saugerties): Orpheum Theatre 1.

Amid the opioid crisis, the mining town of Hazard is gripped by widespread drug use, from pain management to recreational highs. Will, a reluctant drug dealer, tries to reunite his family but unintentionally deepens their addiction. As community tensions rise, he must decide whether to succumb to his addiction or save his family before it’s too late. HAZARD explores the heart of the opioid epidemic, a crisis that has devastated lives for decades. The film offers a multifaceted look at the experiences of the underserved, going beyond headlines to shed light on an urgent issue that demands attention and understanding.
