Hayman’s Royal Dock Gin

Hayman's Gin back story is as interesting as their gins. This family gin distiller date as far back as 1863. It was sold in 1987 to UK Brewer Whitbread PLC but subsequently bought back in the years following. The Royal Dock gin in their collection is a Navy strength gin. So called as it has a 57% APV which was the strength required to enable gunpowder to still light if gin was spilt on it. This very gin was supplied to both the Royal Navy and trade from 1863. The gin itself is robust and bright with a citrus and floral aromatic to the nose.
