Hayden Thorpe has released the video for his first music since Wild Beasts called it a day and ‘Diviner’ is a treat. Directed by Crowns & Owls, the evocative video complements the stirring and glacial piano-led sound of the track.
Hayden sings about being the keeper of secrets and leaves an air of mystery as he reveals ‘I’ll be your disciple, show yourself. Living a fever dream, lost control’. The song then builds up in tone and veers into more experimental and glitchy atmospherics (think somewhere between Tori Amos and James Blake) as it comes to a fruitful end: ‘You’ll be my diviner, show me where to go’.
