Havasu NWR Birding 5-8-2012

Redhead at Havasu NWR on 5-8-2012

After surveying this morning, I decided to check a couple places on Havasu NWR for lingering waterfowl and migrant shorebirds and passerines. I checked a canal near the Beal Restoration Area first and the highlight was four Bufflehead. After noting all of the birds present in the canal, I headed north to Pintail Slough and the highlights were a lone Solitary Sandpiper, two Wilson’s Phalaropes, four Western Wood-Pewees, and five Wilson’s Warblers. Below are the full checklists from each location.
