Harry's Singapore Chilli Crab, Surry Hills

By Foodisourreligion @food_religion

Authentic Singaporean Chilli Crab is almost unheard of until I visited Harry's Singapore Chilli Crab in Central. The restaurant isn't that noticeable because Harry's restaurant is upstairs above Triple Ace Bar on the corner of Elizabeth and Campbell. The first thing you will notice about Harry's is that they definitely serve fresh crab. Why? because there are boxes of live crabs sitting right outside the door steps of the restaurant.

The Singaporean Chilli Crab was fairly decent. Before I came, I didn't want to have high expectations but secretly had some level of expectations and those expectations were met. in terms of good taste and authenticity. The crab was fresh and the meat was very soft and tender, you barely had to chew it. The chilliness of the sauce wasn't extremely chilli but we did order a chilli rating of 7/10. In saying that though, the chilliness does build up.
Seafood in general is pricey and their crab was definitely wasn't cheap but you have to consider that they are charging at market price and you are guaranteed fresh crab. I would definitely recommend this place for seafood and chilli lovers, though I would also say that just focus on the crab because some of their dishes weren't as great as their crabs.
