Happy Engineer Week Girl Day!

By Trendytechie @theTrendyTechie
Girls are excelling in science and math, but their academic success is not translating to increased women in engineering and other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. Women represent just 12% of the engineering workforce and more than 50% of girls say they don’t consider engineering as a career. Dr. Misha Malyshev, CEO of Teza Technologies, works with partner organizations to provide hands-on opportunities for young women to learn about STEM fields. I have partnered with Teza Technologies to celebrate Girl Day with a commitment to inspiring and encouraging girls to explore STEM. Girl Day is a chance to inspire girls to pursue engineering careers and to increase the representation of professional women in STEM. In support of Girl Day, here are 8 things you need to know about STEM education! Engineers Week_Girl Day As current technologists and engineers, it is our responsibility to make STEM a welcoming environment for talented people from all demographics. We have the power to open the doors to the next bright minds in innovation – the next Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg might just be female, and it is up to us to make sure the doors are open when they want to walk through. signature 1
