Happy Birthday: 7/31

Rico Rodriguez (15)

It’s hard to believe that Rico is already 15, but he’s terrific on Modern Family, and it’s basically the only thing on his resume at this point.

Joey Richter (24)

While you may not know him by name, you might know his work. He was Ron in the YouTube sensation A Very Potter Musical, which spawned the career of Darren Criss. Richter since hasn’t been as successful as Criss, but he recurs on Disney Channel’s Jessie, and shot an episode of Glee.

BJ Novak (34)

While he isn’t a major role, Inglorious Basterds is a terrific movie.

Ben Chaplin (43)

It is definitely an ensemble piece, but The Thin Red Line is a must-see if you haven’t already.

Dean Cain (47)

The former Superman was part of the ensemble of a little seen indie film in 2000 called The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy. It co-starred Timothy Olyphant, Zach Braff, Justin Theroux, Nia Long, and John Mahoney. Just in case a “Dean Cain” movie isn’t tops on your list.

JK Rowling (48)

Celebrate her birthday by watching any of the Harry Potter films. You’re probably already watching one today anyway, since today is also Harry Potter’s birthday.

Wesley Snipes (51)

While he hasn’t been seen in theatres in a while, due to being in jail, I would recommend an oldie but goodie. Passenger 57. It’s basically Die Hard on a plane, but it’s that cheesy goodness you get from watching an old early 90′s action film.

Geraldine Chaplin (69)

Charlie Chaplin’s daughter is still alive and acting. She’s probably best known for Doctor Zhivago, but she was also in the terrific The Orphanage, which opened in 2007. Check it out, and see if you noticed her in it.
