Happy Accidents have shared the video for ‘Secrets’ ahead of the release of brand new album ‘Sprawling’ on 29 May (pre-order via Bandcamp now). Self-released and produced by the band themselves, the new record finds the band exploring new sounds with plenty of synths and electric pianos playing a key (geddit?) part.

Flitting between a textured, dreamy sound and slacker pop stylings with a bit of Super Furries-style psychedelia thrown in for good measure, ‘Secrets’ is a song about ‘feeling haunted by meds-induced dreams, and the magic moment when you trust someone enough to tell them about how messy you feel’.

Rich Mandell talks about how hard he finds it to keep quiet about his mindset and almost has a conversation over the music (‘When everything’s alright, I’ll tell you baby. When everything is dying, I’ll tell you baby’) before the three and a half minutes culminates with a crescendo of Phoebe Cross’ drums and harmonising.
