Polaris Music Prize and JUNO Award-nominated singer-songwriter Hannah Georgas has shared new single ‘Dreams’ ahead of the release of new album ‘All That Emotion’ on 4 September. The record has been produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner and has already seen Hannah gain support from Stereogum, Rolling Stone, The Line of Best Fit and many others.
A slice of alt sadpop that ‘explores the idea of breaking down those barriers of insecurity and being more open’ in a relationship’, it finds Hannah asking her partner ‘When you gonna wake up and change your mind?’ as she reflects on where she has found herself – and if she deserves it all. This personal outpouring is delivered over dreamy guitar loops, subtle synths and perfectly pitched percussion: ‘And if the world comes down I wanna hold your hand. And if I lose you now, I’ve gotta tell you, baby, I only thought I could find you in dreams I’ve had. You make me feel like I deserve this. You make me feel like it’s worth it. Didn’t know what I wanted ’til I wanted you’.
