A couple months ago I was at a festival in town and saw these pants for sale in a booth. I figured they wouldn't fit, those "one size fits all" pieces rarely fit a woman over a size 10. But I looked at them more closely and my sister encouraged me to try them. The vendor let me take them into a nearby cafe to try them on in their restroom, I stood up on the toilet to see in the mirror, hunched over to see my reflection and thought from that odd angle that they were pretty cool... and bought them. I've worn them before, with an Old Navy vintage v-neck hanging out at home, and with this blouse to Dan Savage's recent book signing in DC (though that time due to the hurt leg it was with lower shoes). Did I NEED harem pants? No, but they are a heck of a lot of fun and quite comfortable in this heat!
