Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel – Review

By Travellingtheworld

I recently stayed four nights at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I am a Marriott Rewards Gold Elite member, so they automatically gave me a late check-out, at four pm.

Check in was a breeze and after the formalities were done, I was off to my room. The room was located away from the elevator, at my request, and had a king size bed.

It had all the usual amenities - a widescreen tv, table lamps, a desk to work, a refrigerator and, of course, a comfortable bed.

The room also came with two free bottles of water, two bathrobes, a comfortable, oversized chair with ottoman and a safe which was actually tucked inside a drawer, and not inside the closet as it is customary.

On the flipside, though, there were fewer drawers to keep your clothes.

The desk had extra power outlets and one of the bedsides had extra outlets too. As I was wondering why they did not install extra outlets near the bed facing the window, I noticed this very cool device that one could use to set the alarm but also to charge devices.

As a Gold Elite member, I received free high-speed internet and it was a great connection.

The service throughout the hotel met my expectations. Because I don't stay in the room for most of the day, I don't ask for cleaning service every day.

However, whenever I wanted they provided me with water and the cleaning staff asked me every morning when I left the room whether I want any service. I liked their discretion - not knock but only ask when I was in the corridor.
